Landwhale: I know the exact auction you are talking about! I was watching all that persons auctions seeing how high they went. I thought it was incredibly fishy, just the name of the seller, and that they we starting the auctions at such a low price. I really hope you get your money back!!!

There seem to be quite a few scammers on ebay(some have been shut-down). DOA has a thread about it. Perhaps we should get the names and post them here for those who aren't on it?

Hope everything works out for everyone!!

T__T yeah...i thought the name was weird too but then a lot of ppl use weird names so i wasnt going to discount them. Some ppl do start auctions at super low prices because ppl usually bid until it gets to a decent range. They had some cool dolls and they did look like owner pics. This is the first time anything like this has happend to me on ebay so it's really upsetting and unexpected. I'll keep you guys posted on how this ends.

I'm just incredibly careful on Ebay, almost paranoid actually. XD I've never had any problems with any sellers, but I hear stories like yours, and it's awful. :( I agree though those pictures did look a lot like owner pics. I really do hope that things get worked out for you. :)

Some of my doll books I'll start lowish in the hopes they'll get driven up, and some because they're falling apart. Some times it works, some times the buyer is getting a great deal. If you're good an honest it all balances out. Every book I sell under priced is one I get under priced.

Well I got an update on my DoA Bygg Hooves purchase. The seller told me that she checked with the post office who told her the package had been returned to her... Ok, could be true, could be she forgot to ship and this is just an excuse - she does have all good feedback so I'm not excessively worried and I resent her my address to make sure she has it correct. I'll be keeping in regular touch with her to make sure I get them or my money :)

Trust is definitely not my strong suit.
I have had mostly good experiences on eBay, but there have been some real nasty ones, too. I always look at feedback--especially to see if the seller has repeat behavior that I don't want to deal with.
It also helps to pay for everything--really everything--with an American Express card. You can dispute charges with Amex of any amount. If you read the small print on other cards, they don't allow disputes on anything under $50, so I don't use their crummy cards.
Also, if a seller (and the dishonest ones very often have "family" and/or "medical" problems) knows that s/he has to duke it out with a credit card company, they are more likely to either send your stuff or send a refund.

The girl I bought my first big Obitsu from suddenly had her grandpa die on her last week, which I finally found out after a week of no communication right after I had paid for the doll. I know that lots of slow/untrustworthy sellers use family problems and sickness as an excuse, but in this case, I believe her.

Sorry for bumping an old topic, but... Apparently the Little Pullip Seine I bought in April (!) got sent back to the seller and when she shipped it a second time, it never arrived. She has now sent it again, including a $100 Pullip Isul doll (Pullip's younger brother) as a gift for my patience, which I find very hard to believe. Well, we'll see. At least I can track the package now. Sigh.

In regards to the Pullip, honestly, it probably would have been better to wait until the doll was actually in your hands before resending the seller that payment. No harm no foul that way. If you never get the doll, at least you'd have gotten your money back awhile.

Not BJD related, but I recently purchased a MLP gift set from a seller on Ebay. Only two feedbacks for being a buyer--both good--and no feedback for being a seller. I took a chance. Well, no word after two weeks on whether or not the package had shipped, even though I asked several times. Communication was completely ignored by the seller. I opened a paypal dispute as a warning, because when it comes to my money I do NOT screw around. Still no word from the seller, I escalated the dispute to a claim after another week, paypal took it from there by contacting the seller as well. Again, STILL no communication on her end at all. So I got a full refund and left negative feedback saying the seller was a fraud. That's the first time that happened to me (on Ebay; DOA is another matter). Hopefully it'll be the last. But I don't think I'll try purchasing from anyone with zero or negative feedback on Ebay anymore. I don't care HOW great the deal is.

Alrighty my biggest problem with ebay: I bid on a 21 cm Azone Ciel head from Kuroshitsuji and the seller removed the auction when there was ten minutes left and I had made my maximum bid and was winning the auction.

I was furious but I decided 'screw it' I wasted all the time waiting and keeping watch on it when I could have bought something else. I saw the same head, same seller the next day!!!!!! My mom said next time something like that happens to tell her because according to her I should have gotten the head!

If I see the same head again I'm leaving such negative feedback it'll make their head spin! (Pun not intended)

I'm keeping my eyes out for props and such like Iwako erasers, Re-ment and I keep my eyes out for good deals...

The biggest reason why I didn't try to get the head was examining it's photo I could see it looked like it's hair was cut messily. Ciel has bangs...This head didn't have it not even swept aside.
