Valli's thread showcasing her awesome dollieh sets has got me wanting to see more people's set-ups and dollhouses and pseudo-dollhouses and bookshelves and what not. C:

So post 'em!

I'll share mine in a bit, arrival of actual doll HOUSE has put area in disarray, so need to tidy up first... :O

Note to self, take new pictures of the dollhouse. Second note to self, have the dolls tidy up first.

Dang, Kim...just checked out your typepad blog and I just LOVE your Who and Zep clones. Very, very cool. Oh yeah: the secret about John Paul Jones is that he always looks like he's stoned. Which is quite likely to be the actual case.

Thanks, I doubt anyone who made Hurdy Gurdy Man the song it is today could be completely sober. I'm thinking of doing old men Zeppelin somewhere down the line. It's a long way to go for a photo story where someone is doing a scavenger hunt and needs a human foot but it will be worth it. :P I'm hoping to get to a place where I can make ones to sell. I tackle the Bee Gees and Beatles next and actually plan to fidge and reuse a few of the older heads.

If anyone has an idea for turning one of the floors of my house in to a sushi bar, using the Bratz bar, or a Mod hang out with the other Bratz thing or any other neat ideas let me know. I'm a bit tapped on how to redecorate the dollhouse but I feel it needs it. The walls are masonry board so I guess I could paint or paper them a bit. I have the roof space too. Just really need some neat environs to show my kids off.

Well, I have one "stage" (at least for the 1/6 scale crowd, though I've made 'partial' stages for some shots) -- that keeps getting re-dressed and re-used as story needs require.

Directions for making foam-core board room box -- this is the basic plan I used, though I made my stage a little deeper (and used an extra piece of foamcore board to do that). I also have pieces I slide in to raise the floor so the window appears lower (I use stacked DVDs in cases to hold the floor up... we're very high-tech around here!)

It was a group project; as you can see:
Image
Early construction phase...

Image
The first "story" was Lady in Alabaster, so this is the construction of the artist studio that was the setting for the first two acts of the story...

Image
Getting the window ready to be put up (it's clear plastic, in a wood frame, with the diamond pattern drawn in with sharpie markers. The plastic came from a Barbie outfit packaging.)

Image
The stage as it appeared for Lady in Alabaster. The plastic in the window actually was sometimes a problem, since I was using flash -- I had to angle my shots to avoid glare (not always successfully...).

Image
The same stage 'redressed' with green-screen windows (really a different backboard) added. The green screen is flat paper (the pane pattern is printed on the green paper backing), which makes it a lot easier to shoot and then substitute in whatever outside scenery I want to show.

Image
Another variation.... Same green-screen windows, but with image showing where the green was.

Image
Tchat's room, another variation. It's all a matter of wall hangings (fabric) and different layouts, furnishings and props to create different places in the same basic set.

Image
Ayame's room, another variation.

Image
Backstage dressing room (movable walls re-arranged with new set pieces)

Akio's apartment.

Which one of us? Mine is mostly 'Sweet Home' from discount stores but it's several years old.

Any and all of you. ^_^ My hubby said he will build me a house for my little peeps as soon as I clear out the space for one, so I am needing to plan furnishings for them.
