Posted: Thu Oct 06, 2011 10:06 amI'm an Apple user and, contrary to the general perception around the 'net, I don't feel it makes me part of an "elite clique" or in any way superior. Jobs and Wozniack were the guys who ultimately led the technological revolution that we benefit from (or suffer under, according to some Neo-Luddites) to this day. I admire Jobs as a visionary and entrepreneur, although as an individual he was more *AHEM* complex, to say the least! Yeah, he could be a right bastard but that is at least balanced, possibly outweighed, by his business legacy and I'm sorry we've lost him.

Posted: Thu Oct 06, 2011 3:37 pmMy husband and I learned about it while we were out...attempting to have a romantic night... totally killed it (well it did! Not gonna lie about that.). My husband pretty much idolized Steve Jobs so he was almost in actual tears (almost). It was such a surprise blow that we doubted it for a few minutes. Thought someone was being a real bad troll. But, the guy has been battling cancer, and then he stepped down as CEO so I believe when he did that it was a sign that it was rearing it's ugly head again. Sadly, this time he lost.
We hope that the company constantly pauses to have a "What would Steve do?" conversation before pushing out a new product. That guy, man, he was something brilliant. Knew what he was doing.
I'm also pretty sure Mr. Jobs is barking at us from iHeaven to stop crying about it and move on. Seems like the kind of guy to say that.

Today while I was at the hospital waiting to have follow-up lab work done, a commencement speech he gave in 2005 was playing on CNN on one of the waiting room TV's. It was insanely inspirational and full of so much actual wisdom that started to tear up.
