Peter is the manager of The House of Absynthe. He is also head over heels in love with Elsie. Elsie is one of the working girls...and is also in love with Peter. She cannot do much about their love, yet. They both wish to run away together and elope. He doesn't care what the social mores, nor does he care what society thinks about their professions. Running away and making a clean start for the both of them is his dream.

Yes, I know. I keep rewriting their stories. This one, though, seems to fit them best. Puck will make an appearance later, but not until he can get a new set of clothes. He needs something more appropriate, as he actually owns The House of Absynthe. He is also not a nice person. Merrie and Kathryn will also debut in the story later on, ad Puck finds them and kidnaps them, forcing both girls into servitude.

*edit* i also need to write how Elsie and Peter ran across Puck. :( i seem to be starting in the middle of the story.

Doesn't everything start in the middle of the story and fill in background information as needed? ^.~

Yeah, I think it's called "in medias res." I'd google it and try to sound smart but I'm too lazy (and not smart.) ha... In all seriousness though that's a great place to start the story. It raises loads of lovely questions that get filled in as needed in the little snippets of backstory introduced when appropriate.

I'm too lazy to look it up, myself :) i like loads of questions about a story. I would be writing more about them, but real life keeps raising its ugly head. I have a lot of real life research to do, sadly. That is okay. Their story will be sitting in the back of my brain, simmering.
